Photo Story Movie

The concept i capture with this is the Point of Interest. I decided that the frog should be the focus of this photo, because it stands out so much. The use of the dull colors surrounding the frog with the frogs bright green skin, works as a quality contrast to put all the focus on the frog. Another way I made the frog stand out is by taking away all perception of the frogs surrounding. I took the photo from close range because I didnt want the viewer to be able to really tell where the frog was when I took the photo, that forced the viewer to focus on the frog and not be distracted by it surrounding. The photo was taken of a frog on a headrest inside of a hot tub, but its hard to realize that because of the range from which I took the photo.

Rhythm

I saw a lot of opportunities in this photo, and I decided to use the concepts of vertical lines, and horizontal lines to create Rhythm. The vertical poles start off without any birds, and they continue to be bare and consistent, then the poles begin to gain birds on them, however this addition of the birds, does not break the rhythm, infact it builds up to the stoppage of the poles and the rhythm, with a bird departing from the poles, and i thought that the bird flying away exemplified the ending of the rhythm. As for the horizontal lines of the wires within the poles, they play the role of taking the eye from the left side and directing it to the right side of the photo.

This photo has a very large amount of Diverging Lines. As I was walking back to my beach house, my eye was really drawn to this plant and all of the individual lines, that were pointing in so many different directions. The lines from the plant sends the viewers eyes up, down, and down/left. After the viewer focuses on all the direction that the plant sends them in, I wanted to show how my friends were walking off into the distance. I noticed that the edge of the road was another line coming out of the plants area, I used that line as a path for the eye to follow to my friends.

Previous Post

My eyes were drawn to all the lines when I was on the beach, and I decided to focus on the Diagonals of the lines. The slope of the dune helped to form the diagonals of the wood spokes. There are multiple sets of the spokes, which are also diagonals, I then decided to use the wood spokes in the center of the photo, to visually appear that it connects with the railings on the wooden steps. That convergence, makes the viewers eyes follow from the spokes up to the steps, creating what looks to be a potential walking path.
